Yesterday I bolstered the foundation. Today I built on it.
Before today the only place to get a recommendation for what to watch next was the TV show page. That could not be the only place to find TV shows to watch on a website whose purpose is to recommend TV shows. So we added a What to Watch Next row to the homepage and gave it the lead position, above Top Picks. Side Quests kept its own row further down.
This decision was tough because I did not want to clutter the homepage. I also did not think Side Quests was earning its place ahead of What to Watch Next. The work did require changes to the codebase, but nothing extreme.
I feel as though we have the core features now, with the recommendation engine delivering consistent results. From here to version 1 it should be fine-tuning.
